In the first two chapters of Ephesians, the scripture is so rich with information about who we are IN Christ. If you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, then all of this knowledge and power is yours. It has been given to us. It’s “included in the package of salvation,” if you will. I could not read these verses and not be excited about my relationship with Christ.

You can go read Ephesians 1 and 2 on your own. Here is a list of the riches Believers have, or have been given, IN Christ:

  1. Every spiritual blessing
  2. Been chosen before the foundation of the world
  3. Redemption through Jesus’ blood
  4. Forgiveness of sins
  5. Knowledge of the mystery of God’s will
  6. An inheritance
  7. Hope
  8. Alive in Christ
  9. Created for good works
  10. Kindness
  11. Nearness to God
  12. Greatness of His power
  13. Hope of His calling
  14. Gentiles and Jews have been made into one body
  15. Sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise

What kind of dwelling place are you allowing God to create?

The Holy Spirit seals us in Christ. He is the pledge of our inheritance and gives us access to the Father.

But what I think is so neat about these verses is this. They tell us that we are being built into the dwelling place of God. We are a project God is working on. He has to lay the foundation of salvation and then we work out our salvation as the Father builds the walls, lays the flooring, and painting the ceilings.

When we are saved Jesus indwells our hearts and then builds us into the temple He wants us to be.

Yet so many times we walk around utterly defeated. Life is work, but we have ALL of these riches in Christ. We have EVERY spiritual blessing before us.

The Father already has the architectural plans. But there has to be hammering, chiseling, sawing, gluing, fixing, and surveying in love to build the dwelling of God.

For God is holy.

We are not.

So be encouraged! God is not finished with you yet. If you are breathing, then God has something for you to do and He will provide you with whatever you need to do His will.

You are going to be a beautiful dwelling place!

“How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty!” ~ Psalm 84:1

  1. So very True future.flying.saucers, we need to have our evil flesh natures put to death as confirmed in the Scriptures below, before we can be perfected in God’s Love and be Born again, then we do not sin in regards to what God calls sin.

I was going to thank you for the paper object lesson you shared for the Children but you closed the comments ? I have taught R.E for well over 15 years now and also in other Ministries, Ron has taught Children too, yes it is a lesson not just Children but we all need to know, we do indeed have freedom in Christ Jesus but we need to walk in it by The Holy Spirits empowering so we can be perfected.

1 John 3:9 No one who is Born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been Born of God.

Colossians 3:4-6 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.

1 John 4:17-19 Herein is our Love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in Love; but perfect Love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in Love. We Love Him, because He first Loved us.

Christian Love from both of us – Anne.

  2. Thank you for the encouraging words today: “So be encouraged! God is not finished with you yet. If you are breathing, then God has something for you to do and He will provide you with whatever you need to do His will.” Blessings ~ Patty

  3. I love the picture you included of the Biltmore! I used to work nearby (almost a decade ago now) and took my wife there on our honeymoon. One of my favorite stories about George W. Vanderbilt is that he took stated worship so seriously that he had a Episcopal chapel built on his property and hired a minister to serve there and proclaim the gospel; today the church is known as All-Souls Cathedral.

Every year at Christmas, George W. Vanderbilt II would invite the Domine to Christmas dinner, and had him bring along the account books detailing the churches expenses for the year. The Domine would go inside and enjoy the dinner, leaving the expense books in the carriage. When he left, the books were replaced with a check, which awaited him on the carriage seat.

One of the few things we know about G.W. Vanderbilt, apart from his introverted character, was that he was a pious man…
