dover5We were learning from the guide how the door was opened and closed.

dover8The servants’ downstairs room was all hands-on activities for the kids. Very neat!

dover9During the years Dover was a jail, the prisoners would use floor nails to carve into the walls. Some of the pictures were stories from the scriptures. When we entered the chapel, there was no “graffiti” on the walls. All of the prisoners respected that space.

dover13In the middle of the picture you can see a tower that was built by the Romans as a lighthouse. It was the first thing built on this hill.



dover20We also went into the tunnels which had been used for Operation Dynamo in WWII. The tunnels were fascinating, but a little scarey for the kids.
