I am so thankful for Family! They are the closest people around me who know my faults and love me anyway.
But, over the years the term “family” has evolved into more than just people who are related to me. Family could be an in-law, a great friend, and even people I have never met.
These next few weeks will be hard on some people as they deal with the loss of family. And it is times like these that we need to remember the hope we have. Hope in a Savior who loves us and has a place for us in eternity.
So while family can have many meanings, it basically is the same for everyone. Family is a term that represents those whom God has blessed us. Those who are beside us today, those who will one day be beside us for eternity.
Make sure your relationships are solid this holiday season. For me, this means getting off my computer and having more face-to-face time with those in my household. As I am writing this, my son wants me to go outside and take a walk with him. How can I say “no” to that?
We are not guaranteed tomorrow. Take the time today to love on those who care about you. Even better – take the time to love on those who may NOT love you.
After all, that’s why Jesus was born in the first place.
Have a happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas time!!!
