I’ll admit it. I’m a sucker when it comes to hosting parties. I LOVE having people over to my home. I don’t think I’m all that great at hosting, and by NO means am I a fantastic decorator. But I do have fun because, in my mind, I am attempting to create an atmosphere where people can enjoy one another’s company.

This weekend we celebrated RB’s 5th birthday. I see this as a great milestone birthday, so I wanted to try my best to do what RB wanted. He started out wanting an Olympics birthday party. I was ALL over that! That sounded awesome! And then my husband showed RB the movie Cars. Olympics went out the window and Cars was in. I didn’t really want to focus on the Disney theme, per se, so I focused on creating a racecar birthday party.

If you ever desire to make your own race car driver costume, I recommend using the iron-ons, but make sure you use a wooden clipboard, or something of hard wood, to press the iron upon. Also, we found all of our favorite company logos on Google images. (Free advertising for them!) Make sure you reverse the image before printing them out. If you look carefully, you can see that we messed up on a few of the “patches.” Oops.

I had fun. I hope everyone else did as well. 🙂
