We have so much fun with parties at my house! I feel like they celebrate life. Whether it’s a birthday party, Christmas party, co-op party, small group party… it doesn’t matter. I love to be hospitable. I don’t know if I’m really any good at it, but I hope others at least have fun with it. I don’t do “Martha Stewart” fancy, or even “cute and crafty,” but I try to find activities and themes that are fun and allow for lots of memories to be made by everyone involved.
My daughter will turn 4 years old on Dec. 18th and she chose to have a Superhero Birthday party. We wanted to be sure that the boys would enjoy the party too, so princess or ballet will have to wait!
If you’ve been around the blog for a while, you know that my husband is the costume guru. And the one for this party was quite creative. Using a personal joke between the two of us, he transformed himself into Sleepyman! (At this point, I just shake my head and laugh!)
I realized when putting this post together that I didn’t have pictures of the treat bags. I hit a sale at my local Walmart and found all kinds of Super Hero treat bags, blow things, posters, hangy down things from the ceiling…on clearance. I don’t think I paid $8 for all of it. I also found cute rolls of coloring sheets with crayons. So in the treat bags each child received a hard plastic Avengers cup (boys) or Hello Kitty (girls – I know, but the Supergirl cups were $3 a pop), the coloring roll, a small whistle, and 3 pieces of candy. Nothing fancy, but the kids liked them.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET CHEEKS!!!! Mama loves you to infinity and beyond!
